A Wifi connection as well as an Internet corner will be provided to attendees during the congress.
This is a strictly non-smoking event.
All event activities (including Plenary Sessions, Meet-the-Expert Sessions, Satellite Symposia, Poster Sessions, Exhibition Area, etc.) are exclusively reserved for registered participants. Badges provided at registration are required for entrance into all functions and will be strictly enforced.
At the end of March, the average temperature begins around 12°C and increases up to 17°C during daytime. We expect cloudy weather with sunny spells and a chance of rain.
The euro is the official currency in Italy. Bank notes come in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 euros. Coin values are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cents, 1 and 2 euros. Most international credit cards are widely accepted for payment in hotels, restaurants and shops, except for American Express credit cards which are less accepted. Foreign currency may be changed at banks, hotels, airports and in exchange offices. ATM machines are easily available throughout the city and at the airport.
Follow the same rules of safety you follow while travelling anywhere else:
- Keep your travel documents in your hotel safe deposit box
- Always carry the hotel address with you when you leave the hotel
- Do not leave personal items (bags, mobile phones, etc.) unattended
We will send you a letter of invitation upon request. Please note that this letter of invitation does not commit the congress organisers to any kind of financial support or hosting arrangements, nor does it guarantee an entry visa. The congress organizers will not contact embassies or consulates on your behalf.
A certificate of attendance can be printed in the registration area from Saturday March 25 in the afternoon (the exact time will be communicated during the congress).

Italy uses a 230 volt 50 Hz system. Sockets are the standard European type (two-prong round pin plugs with a hole for a male grounding pin are standard). To use electric appliances from your country you may need a special voltage converter with an adapter plug.
Service is usually included in the bill in bars and restaurants but if you consider the service good enough to warrant a tip, we suggest about five to ten percent.
